shopping cart visibility issue resolved
The View Cart icon visibility issue, referred to in the 7 October entry below, has been resolved. To check your order items / quantities status on the fly prior to Checkout, simply hover over the icon with your cursor (or tap once on a mobile device). If you do not see the 'tote bag' icon next to the menu above, you may need to refresh your browser for it to pick up the change.
Thanks to all!
PS: If you attempted to checkout prior to the problem being fixed, and are still experiencing trouble ordering, please empty your browser cache (Cmd+R keys at the same time in Mac OS X or the F5 in Windows) and proceed to Add To Cart and Checkout once again.

Docs PDF printing problems
Nearly all Aviaeology Docs digital publications – including the standalone PDFs or those provided to registered Decals 'n Docs owners – are optimized so that maximum quality is achieved regardless of on-screen zoom level. As such, they print to a high fidelity standard as well.
However, recent feedback has revealed that some PDF reader / printer / computer combinations have trouble printing some of the more graphics-intensive editions (i.e. those containing more than a few pages of scaleable profile and plan drawings). The problem is tied more to the relative extent of these individual artworks within any given PDF, than it is to absolute file size. In other words, a 4 to 5 MB Aviaeology Doc may not print where a typical 10-12 MB PDF, with text plus low resolution graphics on all or most pages, will.
The problem seems to present itself consistently if:
In working with a small number of affected customers, we have discovered that either of the following will usually work:
If these suggestions do not work, let us know if you would like us to resend the PDF(s), as it may be a rare case of the file(s) being corrupted in transit.

- A typical consumer-grade inkjet printer's default settings are used (where all pages are set to print in one go) or;
- A wireless inkjet or laser printer is being used on a heavily loaded home network or;
- A typical 'consumer grade' inkjet printer with no onboard memory is being used.
In working with a small number of affected customers, we have discovered that either of the following will usually work:
- Print one or two pages at a time (this seems to be the best option for wireless printer connections and no onboard memory printers) or;
- Use the PDF Reader software's "Print as Image" setting at "300 DPI" or above. This seems to be the best option for older cable-connected printers.
If these suggestions do not work, let us know if you would like us to resend the PDF(s), as it may be a rare case of the file(s) being corrupted in transit.

shopping cart hiccup when checking the status / contents of your shopping cart
The View Cart icon (actually a tote bag icon in our case) normally in the navigation menu bar above has mysteriously disappeared on full screen – typically desktop and laptop computers – views. This may be confusing if you are adding more than one item as you shop and want to check your order status on the fly prior to Checkout.
However, if you minimize the browser window width, or already happen to be shopping on a smaller device (tablet, smartphone), the icon or a little rectangular placeholder for it should be visible next to the collapsed drop-down menu icon, and fully functional for checkout purposes.
We're working on resolving this glitch and expect t have it fixed within the next 48-72 hours. We apologize for the temporary confusion.
